Bad blogger, me

Forgive me blogosphere, it has been five days since my last “real” post.

I was not on vacation.  I was not sick.  But, I did not write and I did not read.  I did not think of quips for the next entry. I did not click on links. I did not post a comment. I did not ponder the latest blogging dilemma with regard to integrity, ads, products, reviews or polls.

I didn’t Tweet and I didn’t Facebook (much).  I didn’t LinkedIn, SheWrites, TwitterMoms, Red Room or Backspace.

I did take a break.   And now I’m faced with catching up — or just picking up from here.

I’m taking care of a sick, old dog who doesn’t always act sick or old, but is.  I have to take another dog to the vet because she won’t stop shaking her head.  I’m working on projects around the house, client manuscripts and my own personal to-do list.  And when I squeeze it in, I’m writing.

When you are busy or preoccupied, with little blog worthy fodder in your day — do you put it all aside and remain a good, dedicated blogger or do you give yourself a break?

    I never stop blogging. It’s my own little “end of the day” treat. My moment of zen if you will. Though it is nice to sometimes take a forced break!

    Dog shaking head? Probably an ear infection or something in her ear that’s bothering her. Our dogs used to do that after they went swimming.

    And welcome back! We missed you!

    Funny, I’ve never blogged at the end of the day, only at the beginning of the day. Maybe I should switch it up!!

    My name is Mindy and I’m addicted to blogging, facebook and twitter. When I go too long without these things I suffer from withdrawl symptoms i.e.: itchy fingers, cold lap syndrome,(from lack of heat generated by laptop)communicating with people in very carefully chosen 140 characters or less and asking for word verifications when people give me their opinion.

    Welcome back. Sorry to hear about your dogs. :(

    @MindyMom,

    LOL! I hear you as I also suffer from hot-lap due to laptop! I am almost always online - email - well that is my addiction.

    Amy, I went through this about a week ago and asked my readers what I should post about. They gave me good ideas, and then a bunch of things happened that I could blog about.

    I plan to take a 2-week break when I go home at the end of the month. Hopefully that will give me a chance to recharge.

    I’m so sorry about your dog. :( And I hope the other one is okay.

    @Melanie,

    That’s a good idea Melanie. So, what would you like me to post about? Your cute puppy?? Oh, and my Mitzi has a double ear infection. Poor thing, but easy to fix!

    Sorry to hear about your dogs. Hope they will be OK. Like Jessica, I generally blog at the end of the day or sometimes (shh … don’t tell anyone, ‘kay? ;) on my lunch hour.

    When I have had breaks like the ones you mentioned, I usually just pick up wherever I left off, I also try to have a post or two in the can ready to go if it has been a day or two without something to write about.

    @Melissa (Betty and Boo’s Mommy),

    I’m curious - what’s the end of the day? I have no idea how moms with little kids have the energy at the end of the day to write something entertaining and coherent. I have teenagers and at night, I fold.

    But, I may still have to give it a whirl.

    If I can stay awake!
